I grew up in MN, and most of my family is still living there. As such, I am tapped into a few of the nonprofits in that area.
When I heard about the Cookie Cart, a Minneapolis nonprofit, I really connected with their mission. Growing up in a household where freshly-baked cookies were nearly a daily occurrence and a symbol of love, I had no doubt the Cookie Cart could change lives. The Cookie Cart provides teens 15 to 18 years old with lasting and meaningful work, life and leadership skills through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery. Sister Jean started the Cookie Cart in the 80s out of her home to give teens a safe place to gather. It quickly outgrew her home and became an official nonprofit in 1988.
